Internet Phone Like Skype

Skype is easy to install and use. It allows people to make perfect quality calls regardless of their location, send instant messages, make conference calls, transfer files, call mobile phones and landlines, switch easily between voice and text communication – all at the cheapest possible price.

There are 2 types of machines in the Skype network – ordinary host and Super Node. An ordinary host is a computer of a regular user who has the installed application and connects to the network to communicate with other users.

The Super Nodes are the end point of ordinary hosts in the network. Any computer with a public IP and appropriate hardware configuration can be a Super Node.

An ordinary host connects to super node and must register with the Skype login server for a successful login. The Skype login server stores the usernames and passwords of all Skype users.

If you are a regular Skype user, then your PC is considered an “ordinary host" that connects to a Super Node. The Super Nodes are servers, which are located in various parts of the world. But your Skype client must know to which Super Node it has to connect.
